Anyone who cares about the sort of society we live in knows that in spite of their obvious successes democracies are threatened by populist authoritarians, by division and dissent and there seems to be no simple way forward. Lots of problems exist. What about maintaining the roads and bridges? Don’t we all want better education? Why can’t everyone have free healthcare? How can we accept utter poverty and billionaires at the same time?
Because we humans are remarkably capable there is no lack of practical solutions on offer. But in the current system politicians seem to be only concerned with power and money and being re-elected. In this hopeful book Malcolm Hossick presents ideas on how the changes we all recognise are needed can be made without a violent revolution. This matter is for every viewpoint, every shade of opinion. This is for people born into riches or poverty, any religion or no religion, any race or colour, people born on plains or mountaintops, tiny villages or huge metropolises, any nationality, sexual leaning, families stable or unstable, gentle folk or tougher types. This is the point of the Lockedtogether Press.

You, whoever you are, are a part of his audience if you have read this far. This book is for you not just to sit down and agree (or disagree!) with, but if you care about the astonishing world we live in, to act upon. This second edition of 2023 doubles the text and explores how a neutral government is tasked, how money and its use needs a complete rethink and finally how poverty can be eliminated through changing the basis of pay and giving everyone a fair share of the national wealth. Faced with the climate disaster we have brought upon ourselves, these are perilous times for the world and only a radical change in how we humans live together in friendship will offer a worthwhile future for our children. Read on.
Democracy has undoubtedly brought huge benefits to the world but because of the way we have built it, is now faiing. The problem is the party system. Instead of propelling the best folk forward to do the job it promotes those most ready to fall in behind a leader or a creed. We find it hard to think of governng ourselves any other way. All putative democracies are stuck with the same situation. It puts in place a group or coalition intent on serving the needs of those who voted for it. It inevitably sees opponents as enemies and defines itself most vehemently by not being what the other lot are. Because they depend on the money of their supporters the parties cannot really change anything fundamental for fear of upsetting the apple cart and losing power. Yet reforming the world’s money system is vital for any real change. Perhaps the best way forward is to start electing people to work in a Neutocracy, a neutral government.
Neutocracy is not a creed but simply the result of observing how the world works and seeking to devise a system which will bring into play the talents of our best and most honourable folk. Not to use them is ridiculous. Anyone can see that. Every idea here has already been explored somewhere on earth. We will never achieve perfection but we can do better!
The whole matter is explored in ‘Neutocracy – the pathway to a neutral government’ which you can buy in various digital formats here!
